San Leonino is a fraction of Castellina in Chianti: the first documentary evidence of the existence of the village date back to the eleventh century. Just outside of town there is the castle, which still has parts of the original structure. Next to the Provincial Road 222 (the Chiantigiana) is the ancient church of San Leonino in Conio, already mentioned in a document of 1043:
