The Church is situated in the proximity of the of the via Cassia and is mentioned as a possession of the parish of Impruneta in a bull of Pope Adrian IV, 29 November 1156.
Externally it appears surrounded by a porch and the Interior has a Latin cross. The entrance portal is made in Romanesque style.
The church has been repeatedly transformed over the centuries, and few traces remain of the medieval building, but Inside, in the left arm of the transept,we can find a fragment of fourteenth-century fresco depicting the Madonna and child.
