The Castle of Verrazzano is located in the town of Greve in Chianti (Florence), on a hill situated 348 meters above sea level.
In the castle, owned by the noble Florentine family “Da Verrazzano” was born in 1485 the eminent explorer and navigator Giovanni da Verrazano, the discoverer of North America and the bay where is today New York.
